Keeping Up With All The Things… new jewellery

So, for the last couple of weeks I have primarily been sat in my airing cupboard/metal studio, making tons of rings (and the odd earring). I know, I still haven’t managed to share any of this much mentioned metalwork. It’s been such a thing, and I feel I have this whole great epic tale to tell about it all. I shared a few pieces on Facebook a month or so ago, but I have made much more subsequently. All this means I’ve found little time to make my ‘regular’ beaded jewellery, and there’s been no bead making either! I’ll have to pull my ceramics finger out shortly because I’ve booked to do a one-off sawdust firing class later on in August and I need to get stuff prepared for that. As for making the regular jewellery, well, I’ve been fitting in a bit off it here and there. I’ve finally collected all these stray makes together and got them listed on Etsy today. Here they are…

bedouins 4 border crossing 1 entanglements 1 fallen nest 1 flight across the desert 1 for your sake 1 keeper of secrets 1 I meant for you to have it 1 leaf litter 1 market day 1 storm rolling in 1 the dancers what other body 1

Here’s another link to Etsy.

Right, time to get back in my metal hole….

New Bracelets: Listed

Last time I mentioned that I had a number of bracelets to share with you. In my attempts to do things differently I found bracelets posed the biggest challenge. It’s something I’m still needing to work on. I guess the bracelets I’ve made recently are different in aesthetic rather than structure/design to previous bracelets. Anyway, these are now all listed over on Etsy.

Nearly there

It’s half past five and it’s still light. Hallelujah. It’s also been sunny - well, sort of - today, so I seized the opportunity to take some pictures. I made a couple of bracelets this week that I’ve been planning to make for a while. They were some time in the planning because I kept thinking of other things I needed to get to finish them. I spent a fair while looking for the perfect citrine for this bracelet:

luxe 1

(lampwork focal - Moogin; patinated brass toggle clasp - Abyjem; ceramic wheel - Slate Studios)

There was a time when I couldn’t really see the appeal of yellow stones. I’m dotty about them now. It’s a pretty luxe bracelet, all in all. I often avoid mixing together so many pricey materials, dreading to think what price I’ll have to put on them, but I decided to go to town with this bracelet. I took a similarly cavalier approach when making this one.

violet rocks 2

(ceramic hoops and chain links - Scorched Earth; lampwork beads - Glass Bead Art; ceramic round - Grubbi)

violet rocks 4

I’m really quite pleased with the way it turned out. And the photos are a lot better than a number I’ve taken recently. I’m nearly done with all my shop overhaul-ing, so it’s the last few days of the sale. To mark this, I’m now offering 30% off everything currently in stock. Just use the discount code FINALDAYS. Remember, some pieces will be going once the sale ends so if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, now really is the best time to bag it. Before I go, here’s a few more new pieces that will be available shortly:

Mint, mink, pink 1

(ceramic pendant - Gaea)

teal tops 1

(polka dot beads - Bo Hulley)

forest fire 1

(ceramic flower - Captured Moments)

It’s now half past six - I’ve spent a long time saying very little! Time I was off…
