Happy Winterval…

Well, I did have the best of intentions. I was going to write a proper ‘end-of-the-year’ post – thoughtful, retrospective, entertaining, insightful… but… I’m just beaten. Really, totally beaten. My head is fit to split and I’m seriously in need of some down time. So, this is just to say thank you for your company this last year. I hope you’ll be back in 2017. In the meantime, here’s a slightly blurry picture of Dexy looking surprisingly content about being wrapped in tinsel – an annual tradition.

Happy Winterval, dear reader!

Xmas Posting Deadlines and New Earrings

Evening all! I hope you’re contending okay with all the pre-xmas stuff. I’m happy to be winding down a little now. I haven’t done any Christmas craft fairs this year (and I’d be lying if I said I’ve missed them), but I have been pretty busy making jewellery and listing it in the Etsy shop. (I’ve also been working away on new beads and setting up my new mini metalwork space(!) – more on that soon.) If you’re in the States, there’s still time to get yourself some Christmas treats. Royal Mail are giving Tuesday, 15th December as the last date for post to be delivered in the US in time for Christmas day. I’ll be doing post office runs tomorrow and on Tuesday, so now’s the time to get your orders in. For details of the last shipping dates for all other countries, please refer to this chart. There’s still time to get items sent to most European destinations, and also Scandinavia. I’ve just listed a little crop of new earrings, including some new favourites! This may be the last lot of jewellery I list this side of Christmas; however, given my love of earring making, I can imagine that I may be adding a few new things before then…

Christmas come early… come late

Hello all. I hope you’ve had an at least tolerable Christmas…

xmas tree…and that your festive season has been full of good things,

photo-5 copy 3like fluffy pink elephants and stuff.

Last time I posted, some days before Christmas, I mentioned that I has amassed a pile of parcels full of good things like beads and glazes.

I also mentioned that I’d be back in a day or so to share this early xmas bounty. Well, I never got around to it so that’s what I’m doing today, some days after xmas.  I meant to take the pictures of the contents outside, on a white background, but it was cold and I was lazy – it may even have been raining – so I ended up taking them on my scruffy, stained work surface. Sorry about that. Anyway, on with the good things. I’m sure a fair number of you will recognise the red wrapping on that top package. A Petra parcel is always very welcome and this one contained those dinky Christmas trees at the top of this post.

PetraI’m loving those spiky ring things. Not entirely sure what I’ll do with them yet but you know how it is when you have to have something? Course you do!

A number of the parcels were things I ordered in Black Friday sales, like this little bundle from Earthbutter Beads.

The colours in those raku rounds are so subtle and beautiful; I had to order another two more sets just to ensure I had enough to bring myself to use some.  I did a similar thing with the earring pairs I got from Slate Studio.

I knew I’d need to keep a pair of each for myself.  I love Sarah’s beads so I stocked up when she had her Black Friday sale. Ditto Tree Wings Studio.

I can’t get over how teeny those little birds are!  More Black Friday purchases here, from Happy Fish Things.

I got a few beads to keep this necklace company on its way over the Czech Republic.

I’d had my eye on it for ages and it had already been reduced quite a bit. I did try taking a pic of me wearing it. I won’t bother sharing that!

What else? I’d also stocked up on more Madeline Bunyan polar bears. I didn’t get around to using them this year but they’ll be ready for next Christmas!

I wish I’d got a better picture of these Numinosity goodies.

Also wish I’d managed to bag a few more of them whilst I was shopping. Finally, beads-wise, some lovely new designs from Blueberribeads.

blueberribeadsJust lovely!

Edit: I forgot to include these:

How??! The wonderful Moogin Mindy, of course.

Now for some really fascinating pictures.

I just can’t stop buying glazes…

In fact, I think I might just have to have a little browse to see if any online suppliers are  running end-of-year sales.  Speaking of the end of the year, let me leave you with the best of wishes for 2015.

What’s been going on…

Oh dear! It’s been quite a while since I last posted. It’s been a hectic few weeks, full of the typical December jewellery-world business, including craft fairs and post office queues and all the rest of it.  On top of all this predictable activity, I also had a crazy big update in the bead shop. I should have blogged about it long since. A good number have sold (thank you, dear shoppers!). Still, I felt I couldn’t post now and not include some images of these latest beads – for the record if nothing else. Plus, some of them are still available in the bead shop.

And while I’m here I thought I’d share a few new pieces of jewellery too.

A few of these have sold, but the rest are available on Etsy.

Whilst I’ve had all this stuff to do, a large pile of beady and glaze-y post has accumulated. I told myself I wasn’t allowed to open it until I got all my chores and responsibilities out of the way. I also told myself that I had to get my work surface tidy before opening them too.

Well, that looks pretty tidy – to me at least!  I’ll be back in a day or so to share some properly envy-inducing pics!!

So, this is a post partly to wish you a merry christmas – Merry Christmas! – and partly to share a last few designs from 2013.  Some of these have sold but others are still available to purchase – a number are already on Etsy.

Thanks to all who’ve followed – or just stopped by – this wee blog throughout the last year – it’s nearly its first birthday.  And, once again, a very Merry Christmas to you all.

GIVEAWAY and FREE SHIPPING! Merry Christmas and Thank you!

A giveaway is long, long overdue!  I said I’d do one to mark reaching 200 likers on Facebook and I’m nearly at 300 now.  So, to thank you Facebook followers and to spread a bit of Christmas cheer, I’m going to give away this bracelet which featured in the Christmas issue of Beads and Beyond.snowbound

All you need to do is leave a comment on this post.  It would be great if you could spread the word about this giveaway, so if you share on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc., please leave extra comments saying where you’ve shared and you’ll have a greater chance of winning!  The winner will be chosen at random on Wednesday evening and I’ll get the bracelet in the post so that, if you’re in the UK, you’ll have it in time for Christmas.  If you’re not in the UK you can, of course, still enter – it’s just unlikely that the bracelet will be with you before Christmas!

Huge thanks again to everyone who has supported both my shops in the last year.  When I get to 300 likes on Facebook I’ll do another giveaway – and I’ll make sure I do it more promptly next time!

The other piece of news I have to share is that I’m offering free shipping this week up to midday on 19th December, the last post day for Christmas delivery.  Just enter the code FREESHIP when you check out.  Click here to head to the shop!  This offer is available to UK and overseas customers.  Your orders will be sent either by UK 1st Class or standard Airmail.

Thanks again!
